Stray Pick Up

The WHS is a private shelter and is not in charge of stray or dangerous animals. The City of Dothan Animal Shelter  houses strays, and animal control officers respond to calls to pick up stray or dangerous animals. If you live within Dothan city limits, and need to report a stray or dangerous animal, please call (334) 793-0215. If you need to bring a stray to the Dothan Animal Shelter, their hours are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You will need a valid drivers license when bringing in a stray animal.

If you live outside the city limits in any of the surrounding areas, you need to call your local police department or sheriff department to make a report. They will know the policies and procedures to follow for your area.
